Shoot 7: An Expression of Beauty @ Vancouver Royal Canadian Legion

What: 1 hour event, a fashion show that showcased local clothing designers
Where: Vancouver Royal Canadian Legion
Who: Local clothing designers!
Why: Accommodate their need for usable promotional shots. I could be wrong.

So this wee excursion was indoors, more importantly, it was in a building that had a serious love affair with florescent and yellow tinged lighting. I didn't know what the hell was going on with the lights in that place, but they have to be twenty years old. I found myself gravitating to alternate sources of light to try to scrounge out some usable pictures. A vender brought in a table lamp, which was really useful for her corner of the room, the hallway flooded the entrance to the room with a serious dose of sunlight, and that helped for people around that area. The yellow lights, mixing with the yellowish red background of the walls caused all of the subjects in the photos to look sickly. Most of the post on these photos was done in an attempt to fix that.

What did I learn?
I still go overboard with my post and saturate my colors too much
I need to invest in an external flash kit if I plan to do any indoor photography
Stay away from other photographers when taking photos, and keep your red eye flash off!
Never get a juice from the Booster Juice near Granville station, they cheap out on the bananas

  2. Commercial station, you're right. I don't know why I always get those two mixed up.
    Either way, demand more banana.
