Shoot 9: Pam In GasTown

What: 2 hour fun shoot
Where: All around Gastown and WaterFront Station
Who: Pam Livara
Why: Just for practice, I wanted to get some lomo looking shots

We went around the brick streets of Gastown, dodging drunk club chicks and trendy eaters to find some cool spaces. Gastown is pretty damn gorgeous, and even though the darkness brings out some loons, the area felt really friendly and accessible. The numerous clubbers may be an annoyance but the streets themselves are too damn cool to pass up. The lighting of the area is pretty low, but the old fashioned lamp posts and trademark steam clock makes it worth it.

What did I learn?
Low light situations are still terrible and I hate what a flash does to photos.
The most interesting places in Gastown are in-between buildings, which are kept fairly well lit to keep nut-jobs from crashing there.
I need to focus more on subject lighting than caring so much about the scene.
Not all people wearing city of Vancouver reflector vests work for the city; in fact, some of them are insane homeless people.
